Your coach for the day

Hi, I'm Derek Winsor, and I'll be your coach for the day.

Coach Derek Winsor
Coach Derek WinsorHead Pro at The Picklr · PPR, DUPR & P4 Certified · 20+ years in racket sports

Derek Winsor is the head pro at The Picklr in Danvers and one of the most certified pickleball coaches you will find near Boston. He holds five coaching credentials: a PPR Certified instructor, a DUPR Rating Certified Coach, a P4 Certified Drills instructor, a member of the Racket Pro Organization, and a DUPR Ambassador. A former collegiate athlete who has coached varsity hockey and tennis, Derek brings more than 20 years in racket sports to every lesson.

Here is who this morning is really for. You already play, you can rally, and you are good enough to feel exactly where you are stuck: the third shot that floats, the reset that pops up, the speedup you cannot counter. This is where you fix it, with a certified head pro watching all eight of you and handing out the specific, level-raising corrections most players never get. You will not get a canned group speech. You get named feedback on your positioning, your shot selection and your patterns, and you leave with a clear plan to push toward 4.0. A coach of this caliber, a group this small, for players ready to break through. Seats like this do not last.

How your coach works

1

Watch first, talk second

You have got one or two things holding your game back. Finding yours beats running the same speech for everybody.

2

One fix at a time

Ten corrections overwhelm a new player. You get the one that matters most today, then the next one.

3

Kind to your body

You leave tired in a good way, not wrecked. We want you still playing this game in ten years.

Come in brand new. Here's what usually happens by the last hour:

  • Your third shot drop finally holds up under pressure
  • You reset hard balls at the kitchen instead of popping them up
  • You read the point a beat earlier and stop reacting late
  • You leave with a clear plan to push toward 4.0

It was never about the paddle

You stop saying maybe next time.

The paddle is the excuse. What actually changes is that you walk onto a court full of strangers knowing you belong there.

You spend the day with seven people in exactly your spot, learning the same things at the same speed. Nobody is waiting on you and nobody is showing off. By the afternoon you're laughing between points with people whose names you didn't know that morning.

Most groups swap numbers before they leave. That's how one Saturday turns into a standing thing you look forward to all week.

A quick gut check

Is this camp for you?

It's for you if…

  • You already rally and play real games, but you have stalled around 3.0 to 3.5
  • Your third shot and resets fall apart under pressure, and you know it
  • You want to compete, not just play, and you need the next layer of strategy
  • You'd rather be coached by a certified head pro in a group of eight than grind rec play

It's not for you if…

  • You have never played and still need the rules (grab one of our beginner camps instead)
  • You want twenty straight games and zero coaching
  • You're a solid 4.5 with tournament weekends already booked

Questions people ask before Danvers.

Is this really not for beginners?

Correct. This one is built for players who already rally and play real games and want to break through to the next level. If you are brand new, grab one of our beginner camps instead, you will get far more out of it.

What level should I be to get the most out of it?

Roughly 2.5 to 3.5, or anyone who can sustain a rally and play out points but keeps stalling at the same level. Derek reads where each of the eight of you is in the first block and pushes everyone from there.

What's the venue actually like?

The Picklr, 180 Endicott St, Danvers, MA 01923, indoor courts. One location, everything you need already there. Map and details are further down this page.

With 8 players and one coach, do I actually get watched?

Every rep. We cap it at eight on purpose so a certified head pro can actually see and fix your specific patterns. A week later you get a written plan built on your game, not a generic recap.

Can I bring a partner?

Yes, and for intermediate work it helps. Register separately, note each other's names, and we'll pair you for the drills and games.

What should I bring?

Your own paddle, court shoes, water, and something you can move in. Balls are provided, loaner paddles available if you flag it at signup.

Something comes up and I can't make it?

Full refund any time before camp day, one email to contact@primepickleballers.com. If we cancel a date, you choose a refund or credit toward the next one.

Not ready to book?

We'll email you before the next date opens.

No pressure. Leave your email and we'll let you know the moment a new seat opens, here or in another city.
